Program FAQ

What is The Break Room ?

The Break Room is a sober living program built on two pillars: recovery and workforce development. Residents live in a structured, supportive environment while also preparing for long-term independence through employment, training, and life skills.

How long can someone stay?

Our program is designed for stability, not short-term turnover. Residents typically commit to 12–18 months, which allows time to build a strong foundation in both recovery and career readiness.

Do residents have to work?

Yes. Employment (or active job search) is a requirement. We partner with workforce programs and community organizations to help residents find and maintain jobs that provide stability and growth.

What are the house rules?

Our rules are simple but firm:

  • Stay sober (regular drug/alcohol testing is required).

  • Respect yourself, others, and the home.

  • Meet curfew and program requirements. Curfew M-F: 9 PM. Sat. + Sun. 10 PM

  • Actively participate in recovery and employment goals.

Is The Break Room a treatment center?

No. We are not a clinical treatment facility or IOP. We are a sober living community. If someone needs medical detox or a higher level of care, we will connect them with trusted providers before they enter our program.

Is there recovery support on-site?

Yes. Our staff is knowledgeable in 12-Step recovery and connects residents with AA/NA and other community-based recovery supports. Residents are also paired with a recovery coach for accountability and guidance.

What happens if someone relapses?

Relapse is handled on a case-by-case basis, with safety as our top priority. Residents may be asked to leave temporarily for detox or higher-level care before reapplying to the program.
